Zhengzhou University signed four agreements with Queen Mary University of London

The President of Queen Mary University of London and the academician of England Royal Academy of sciences professor Adrian Smith, Vice-President professor Nigel Relph and Director of Cancer Institute of Queen Mary University, academician of England Medical Academy Nick Lemoine came to Zhengzhou University on April 23.


Professor Nick Lemoine visited ZZU in the October of last year already when he examined the situation in university, gave lectures and was invited to be honorable professor of ZZU. At that time professor Nick Lemoine expressed a wish to cooperate with ZZU in the field of treatment of tumour viruses and the decision to establish a first Chinese-English Molecular Oncology Center was expressed at that time. This time professor Lemoine came here to find out about carried out work in the Basic Medical College of Zhengzhou University and was very satisfied with received results. He conducted negotiations about future steps of cooperation.


On the April 24 professor Nick Lemoine met with Vice-President of Zhengzhou University Gao Danying and the Deputy Director of the Department of High Education of Educational Administration of Henan Province Tang Duoyi.
On the April 25 the British delegation met with President of Zhengzhou University Shen Changyu, Deputy Secretary of Party Committee Xing Ying,Deputy President of Zhengzhou University Xu Zhenlu and Zheng Yuling. After meeting two sides signed an agreement about establishing of Chinese-English Molecular Oncology Research Centre and joint project of research. The aim of this project is to conduct research in molecular oncology and basic matrix biology.


The Research Institute of Cancer of Queen Mary University of London is the first clinic centre in UK conducting cancer research and one of the leading institutions in the world working in the field of gene treatment of tumour viruses. Later the Director of School of Physical Science & Technology Li Yuxiao signed an agreement with Vice-President of Queen Mary University of London professor Nigel Relph about cooperation with College of material engineering of Queen Mary University. It is stated in it that the students majoring in Physics or related speciality which have achievements in this field can apply for participating in this project. If after graduation these students are going to continue their studies, the grant for obtaining of Master Degree will be awarded by Queen Mary University of London.


Queen Mary University is the part of London University. Among 500 world famous universities it ranks the 225-th. It is also international university with big number of international students from over 120 counties and regions of the world.
